Happy Thanksgiving CrossFamily!!
I hope you are getting ready to spend time with family and friends for a great Thanksgiving day celebration!
I love the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s not just the tasty, Thanksgiving day food traditions, watching the Thanksgiving day parade, or the fact that it’s normal to eat at 3:30pm or 4pm (only thanksgiving!), or watching 8 hours of football, or the freedom to try 3 different pieces of pie on the same plate…no, it’s much more than that..It is a great day to pause in our busy, selfie consumed life to get a chance to reflect on just how thankful we are for family, friends, loved ones and especially for all that our God has done for us. I love getting to take a moment at dinner and getting to hear and getting to share all that we are thankful to God for and all that He has done for us over this past year.
Of course, as most of you know, I am in a season of extreme thankfulness! I just got married to Gaby (YAY!), so it’s easy for me to be super thankful! I want to thank all of your for your support and encouragement during this wonderful time. I am a super blessed man.
I am also very thankful for the Cross church and all of you who help to make it home. I am super grateful for all of the servants who set up, serve, teach the kids, greet, breakdown, and bring the love of Jesus every week.
But, I also know that some of you may be in a different, more difficult season of life right now. I, too, have known those seasons. Those times are never easy, but I want to encourage you to always know that the Lord is with you, that He loves you and that He will give you the strength to get through this season. If you need prayer for anything, please make sure to let us know either by email or by filling out a prayer card this Sunday. I hope that today you will be able to get through the cloud of discouragement that may be hanging over you caused by this tough season and remember maybe just one or two of God’s wondrous works that He has done for you and then give Him thanks in the midst of this difficult time. I think you will find a little moment of peace in the midst of that pain.
I am very thankful for all of you and that I am able to be the Pastor of the Cross church.
So From all of us at the cross church we wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
