in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’ 1Thessalonians 5:18

I am sure that you, like me, are looking forward to enjoying some time with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday! Of course, eating Turkey and all the trimmings is always an added bonus! :))
We have a lot to be thankful for, don’t we? Sometimes, however, it can be hard to be thankful when we have a bad circumstance happen recently. You may even feel guilty reading this verse above, because you know that you are not very thankful for that problem in your life. Thats a pretty normal way to react. Our first response is not “thank God” I lost my job!! What we should do is refocus on who it is that is guiding our life. We must remember that the God who loves us and who is always thinking about us, is still on the throne and knows our exact situation or problem.  We have to keep looking at what He is able to do and how He can work our our bad circumstance for the good. Then we can begin to give thanks knowing that this bad circumstance or problem is still filtered through our Father in heaven. He knows, He cares and He loves us so He has allowed something for a reason. That knowledge will help produce a heart of thankfulness.
We pray that you have an incredible Thanksgiving giving thanks for all the good things that God has provided!
