You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3

I really love the Christmas season.  I love the lights, the decorations, the ugly Christmas sweaters, the Christmas carols playing over the speakers in various stores, and the Christmas parties with friends and family.  Of course, with Christmas,  one of the things that we may not love is that everything starts getting a lot busier. Have you noticed? The traffic,  our schedules, the malls, the parking lots, our ‘To Do’ lists and more seem to all be ramping up.  If you are feeling a little unrest and stress in the midst of the Christmas chaos, then take the advice of Isaiah and refocus your mind upon The One who gave us the reason we celebrate.  That refocus can give us a peace that is perfect. Now, I know that some of you may be facing a time where this season is not much of a celebration because of various situations in your life. Maybe you are feeling stressed because of work or finances, alone because of broken relationships or loved ones who are no longer here, or discouraged because of the difficult year you have had. I want to remind you that you are loved by the God who created you and He wants you to continue to trust Him in the midst of whatever difficulty you face. This verse reminds us that now is the time we want to keep our minds focused on Him and His promise is that He will give us that perfect peace.  We may not think we can really focus on Him in the midst of all of the busyness, but, all of the lights and decorations and gifts and Christmas Chaos can actually serve as a reminder that we are loved by our Father in heaven who sent His one and only Son to be born to a virgin, to live and walk on this earth so He could pay the penalty for our sins. Its actually all because of Jesus. So, when we look at this Christmas season knowing that, then no matter how busy it gets, that thought should bring us a peace that is perfect.
